Born Denobula
Dr. Phlox is the chief medical officer aboard the Starship
Enterprise NX-01. Phlox is a Denobulan and holds multiple scientific and
medical degrees, including certificates in psychiatry, dentistry, hematology, pharmacology,
and veterinary medicine. Along with his open-minded, non-judgmental
personality, he has off beat sense of humor and can be disarmingly forthright
about his sexuality and romance. As a Denobulan Phlox does not need much sleep and instead enters
a state of low metabolism for six days. Actually he can also manipulate unusual
facial muscles including being able to inflate his entire head to ward off
attacks. Phlox had three wives who each two other husbands in the Denobulan
tradition.
